As usual I have pushed the boundaries and Mail Chimp has suspended my account.  It appears because I included links to Corporate Bookmakers.  Of course I am sure if I had included links to Stock Brokers, it would have been OK.  I see them as the business suit Corporate Bookmakers.  We will see how the appeal goes, or I will have to find another provider.

Welcome to our new subscribers and to another “Week In Review”

A quiet week in terms of the number of bets.  Victorian racing moved to the country and Queensland were subject to the after effects of the tropical cyclones.  We increased the Units from $10 to $12 (for 1% Punters) or from $20 to $24 (for the 2 percenters)

We started the week with Oamaru’s Choice at Terang (1 Unit Win / 2 Units the Place). A disappointing run to finish unplaced. 3 Units Loss

Nothing for Tuesday 24 March.  Wednesday saw us at Warwick Farm in Sydney, where we had Happy Friday  (1 Unit Win / 2 Units the Place).  Finished 2nd at $2.00.  Then down to Murray Bridge, where I was conservative on the hot pot Dr Dapper, with 1 Unit Win.  Dr Dapper won in a close photo, with Clare Lindop leaving her run home very late.  2.2 Units Profit

Nothing for Thursday.  Friday night saw us at Moonee Valley for the last night race of this season.  I stuck with Wawail in the 4th (against Fontein Ruby, as we had beaten her before).  1 Unit the win but tonight it was Ruby’s night and Wawail finished 3rd.  In the 8th race we had 1 Unit to win on Afleet Esprit, which was backed into favoritism.  Caught wide and finished 4th.  2 Unit Loss

Saturday saw Doomben washed out and Victorian racing at Mornington.  The BMW was at Rosehill.  I could only find one value runner for the day, in Caped Crusader. 1 Unit Win, 2 Units Place.  Never seemed to relax into the race.  Always seemed to be pushing to keep the lead, which is Gai’s training style.  Meant it used up way too much petrol in the first 1,000m and faded very badly in the straight. 3 Unit Loss.

To round off the week we travelled north to the Sunshine Coast, where we had Choc Mountain at juicy odds. 1 Unit Win, 2 Units Place.  The race panned out nothing like the Race Map. Bearskin missed the kick and settled midfield, where he slowly worked his way forward.  Choc Mountain settled just behind bearskin, but didn’t work forward.  Bearskin won in what was a well ridden race, whereas my selection fought out the last place.  3 Unit Loss.

All in all, what promised so much turned into pretty ordinary week, with a loss of 8.80 Units.

Betting Punters Clubs will continue to run on Saturdays and Major Australian Public Holidays.

I have been following Aaron Hamilton’s Lay Of The Day. He currently has tipped 10 losing favourites in a row.   The account that manages our Clubs  has a “Favourite vs The Field”.   Lay Punters Clubs will be run for this Monday to Friday, to see how this goes once I make it go live.  You can have the option of joining the Punters Club, Laying themselves (Aaron posts around mid day AEST generally), or paper trading them for a week.

The Punters Club links are on our website.
