Started the week slowly, with no selections until Thursday 7 May 2015. We invested 5 Units, and the closest we came to a result was another of Gai’s short priced favourites finishing 2nd at Gosford.
Thursday 8 May we got away from the wet tracks and headed to Beaudesert in Queensland. We invested 1.25 Units on Lead Husson, who made a game run for the line, but finished 2nd.
Saturday 9 May 2015, threw up one selection at each of the major tracks racing that day. Tree of Jesse at Rosehill finished 4th, with the jockey reporting to the stewards that the horse was sour on the day and did not want to race. Traveston Girl was all the rage in Doomben Race 3, but finished 3rd. Flemington Race 8 saw Rawnaq finish unplaced for us. This was starting to look like a bad week. But then out of the West came Delicacy. The call was a tad nerve wracking with Delicacy asleep at the back of the field. But when they hit the business end of the race, she woke up and destroyed another quality field. Finally at a couple of minutes to 7:00 pm AEST our day came to a close with Dark Alert winning at Belmont for us. A profit for the day of 3.75 Units.
Sunday May 10, Mothers Day saw 1 bet at Queanbeyan. Doosey was slow away, got caught 3 wide without cover for the entire trip and never figured in the finish. It was a miserable cold, windy rainy day. Maybe Doosey didn’t want to race today.
For the week we outlaid 14.79 Units. We had 11 Units returned (all on Saturday) for a loss for the week of 3.79 Units
