January 2017 ~ The Month In Review

man-in-suit-counting-australian-money-resize-mediumA profit of $2,600 (+5.83% POT). When I started this journey in 2009, the goal was to produce a second income of $1,000 per week.  January’s profit is about half of my goal, so I am happy that I may finally, after 6 years, be heading in the right direction. It has been 6 years of learning.

During January my bets totaled $44,567, from which I returned $1,866 profit and $734 in Cash bonuses. The cash bonuses came from the Bet 365 Big Bash Promotions, which have now ended. There were 752 bets, of which 333 (45%) were winning bets, 412 (55%) were losing bets and 7 bets were refunded.

Champion Bets ~ Tennis resulted in $2,200 wagered for a $16 loss (-0.7%). There were 37 bets for 20 winners (54% SR). The cost of the subscription is $129 for 3 months, and I can not see the value in continuing this subscription, and will now end it.

David Evans ~ Pro Bet wagered $1,445 on 77 Bets, of which 27 won (35% SR), for a loss of $349.31 (-24% POT). This is a service where I have jumped ship a few times previously. For 2017, I paid the annual subscription of $545, so I am committed for the full year, or until my $2,000 bank is exhausted, whichever comes first. Not a great start to the year. We will see how the year progresses. There was 17.5% used in the first month, leaving 82.5% of the bank for the next 11 months.

Red Belly Sports ~ Ed Kennett had 140 bets for 22 winners (16% SR). There was $2,112 bet for a profit of $561.25 (26% POT). All of this was won on the last Saturday of the month, plus about $100 extra to cover previous losses.  Some of my recorded losses resulted from my inability to achieve the same prices as Ed. This service will be my main betting arm for Thoroughbred Racing in 2017.

There were 108 of my own bets for 63 winners (58% SR). The bets cost me a total of $11,561 and achieved a profit of $507 (4% POT). My bets consisted of backing and laying for bonuses.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets bet $27,248 and won $1,163 (4% POT) from 384 bets, of which 201 (52% SR) were winners.

And so we move onto February, without Champion Bets. The journey continues!

federer-v-nadalA very hot Sunday with not a lot of betting action. But with the Final of the Australian Open going 5 sets, there were lots of Bonus Bets to collect.  Overall I recorded a loss for the day of $63 (-7% POT).

David Evans ~ Pro Bet had a running double which lost $20 (-100% POT).

Champion Bets ~ Tennis lost $78 (-100% POT) by incorrectly picking Nadal to win the match.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $35 (+4% POT) by claiming a money back special for Nadal losing in 5 sets, and also claimed $155 in Bonus Bets.

28 Jan 2017 ~ Money! Money! Money!

abba-moneySaturday was a busy day. I doubled the bank on Ed Kennett – Red Belly, in view of the cost and time spent on the service. I bet $2,365 on Saturday and made a profit of $745 (+31.50% POT). I know there will be losing days coming, but it is nice to have a big day.

David Evans – Pro Bet had two bets and lost them both, for a loss of $159 (-97% POT). There was a $50 Bonus Bet and a $5 refund, so the day’s result will be improved by around $35 when the Bonus Bet is converted to cash.

Ed Kennett – Red Belly Sports, after a slow start to January 2017, finished with a bang! A profit of +$668 (+104% POT).

My bets lost $38.58 (-9% POT) chasing bonuses. I got a $50 Bonus Bet, which will convert to around $35 cash, and result in a minor loss for the day.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets showed a profit of $75 (+6.6% POT), and received a $200 Cash Bonus from the Big Bash promotion, and a $25 Bonus Bet.

20101118-scandistreetfood-bulldogNot much action, so it gave me an opportunity to have a leisurely lunch for about 3 hours, with my youngest daughter and an old friend of mine.  Was a great day. Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $21 (+3.6 % POT), and collected $35 in Bonus Bets.

Expect a big day tomorrow.

26 Jan 2017 ~ Australia Day

Tags

australia-dayHappy Australia Day! A profit of $285 (+15% POT), although I spent most of Australia Day in front of a computer punting on horse racing.  So that is a lifestyle decision that has to be made, if you want to follow Ed Kennett & Red Belly Sports. After a slow start to the day Ed made me a profit of $120 or 6 Units from my $2,000 bank  (+31.5% POT).  Most of my bets were taken at Betfair Starting Price (BSP), which, for me, has a commission of 6%. Without the commission my POT would have been 37.5% POT. Ed achieved a 43% POT.  I got one bet wrong and that probably accounted for the difference in our percentages. To justify the amount of time required for this service (and the cost), I think that the bank needs to be increased.  If the bank had been $10,000, then the profit for the day would have $600 (i.e. 5 times more).  The problem is that I have lost $106 (-7% POT) in January, and an increased bank would have increased that loss by 5 times.  Ed sent an email to his mailing list headed “Ratings Members Win their 3rd Saturday from 4 in January and 46% on Turnover”. I am pretty sure that is correct and absolutely truthful, but it doesn’t mention that that one losing day was a bad one, and I haven’t recovered from that.  But it is just the long term that matters, so we keep punching on. But I may have to seriously consider increasing the bank to justify the hours and the cost.

Champion Bets ~ Tennis lost $24 (-100% POT) by backing Stan Wawrinka.  As he lost in 5 sets, I would say that it was still a good bet.

David Evans ~ Pro Bet won $13 (8% POT), again a first and a second. And again I didn’t put the second place bet on with a TabTouch who were offering  Money Back. I placed the winning bet with them 🙂

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $146 (13% POT), and collected $6.50 in Bonus Bets from William Hill’s Chase The Ace promo.  Most of the money was made by converting Bonus Bets into cash.  Steve from Daily Profit is testing a new system, and I was able to use the Beta version, that highlighted that Hull at $7 had been overvalued by Australian Books. So I back and laid Hull, and made a 78% conversion. The only downside, was that the program was correct and Hull actually won. Therefore the $600 went into my William Hill Account, which now requires me turn it over x number of times.  If the conversion goes into Betfair, then it is immediate cash.

Plus there was a $20 Cash Loyalty Bonus from Bet 365 and a $10 Cash Conversion at TAB, which entered me into a promo at the TAB.

25 Jan 2017 – Doom & Gloom?

Tags

d1bb8-failureA loss of $175 (12.64% POT).

David Evans ~ Pro Bet had two selections, which just weren’t good enough on the day. They finished 2nd and 3rd. And I backed the one who ran the 3rd with TabTouch, who would have refunded my bet if it had run 2nd.  Needed to back the other one with TabTouch. David’s selections lost $180 (100% POT).

All Doom & Gloom? Not at all, I already know there will be days like this and there will be days when I win lots.  It is not the day to day totals or the monthly totals, but how I finish up at the end of the year.  🙂

My bets lost $9.74 (-3% POT), chasing the Crownbet Money Back promotion on Ballarat Races 6 and 8.  Got the winner of Race 6, and lost 1 cent. I got the second place getter in Race 8 and lost $9.73, but got a Bonus Bet of $50. When that is converted I will make a profit of around $25 for those two bets.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $15 (+1.7% POT) and collected Bonus Bets of $16, as Chase The Ace promo winds down.

24 Jan 2017 – Summer of Sports

Tags

tennis-cricketThe Summer of Sports is coming to an end. On Tuesday I only bet on Tennis and Cricket and made a profit of $59 (+7% POT)

Champion Bets ~ Tennis made a profit of $41 (+71% POT). The tennis bets are currently returning 4% POT against an expected 6%-8%.  If they continue to be profitable, then these bets have the scope to have the stakes increased, as the bank increases.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $17 (+2% POT) and collected $6.50 in Bonus Bets.

23 Jan 2017 – Daily Profit

cf9e6-dplogoMonday was all about Daily Profit ~ Value Bets. There were 30 bets for 16 winners (S/R 53%) for a loss of $125 (-10% POT).

This would be a bad day using any other betting method, however, here is the strength of the Value Bets.

Cash Returned from NFL bonuses +$19.40

Bonus Bets earned from NFL $95.30 (converts to $66.70 cash)

Bonus Bets from Chase The Ace $31 (converts to $21.70 cash)

After converting the Bonus Bets, approx $108 will be recovered, reducing the loss to $17. $50 the loss relates a bet in September 2016 on the SuperBowl winner. The selection was New England Patriots, and I changed to another team. The New England Patriots, of course, are now playing the Superbowl and are favourites. So, in the end Daily Profit will make a profit of $33 for the day and I will lose $50 for the day. And if the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl, then, Daily Profit will make another $450 profit.

Profit for the day of $87.68 (+8% POT), earned through the conversion of Bonus Bets into cash.

David Evans ~ Pro Bet just had one of those days, when just about everything that could go wrong, did. Horse jumping awkwardly, missing the start, blocked for runs at crucial times.  Lost $156 (-100% POT).

Champion Bets ~ Tennis  lost $46 (-100% POT).

My Bets won $36 (+12% POT) from converting a $50 bonus bet to cash.

Daily Profit ~ Value Bets won $254 (+15% POT), mainly through converting previously earned bonus bets to cash. They also earned $207.50, in bonus bets for the day, mostly through William Hill’s Chase The Ace promotion.

21 Jan 2017 – A curious day

Tags

, , , , ,

img_1571As Alice once said “It has been a most curious day”. I spent the majority of the day betting on Throughbred, both with Red Belly and my own bets, only to be spectacularly unsuccessful. I went to bed feeling as if it had been a bad losing day. I wasn’t upset by it, because you must treat winning with the same emotions as losing, ie None!

So I was surprised when I completed my book work to find that I was in Profit by $455 (+8% POT).

Champion Bets won $15 (+12% POT)

David Evans – Pro Bet won $98 (+78% POT)

Ed Kennett – Red Belly lost $154 (-100% POT). A late bet(?) came through from Ed on Randwick Race 4 #10 Super Star Bob is $14 on Betfair … may be worth a saver. The word MAY made me hesitate. Was it a comment or a bet. The $14 had gone from my screen, but it was stil available at $10 or $12. It was too close to race time to be hesitant, and I missed the bet. Of course, Super Star Bob won. If I had not hesitated, then I would have reduced the losses by around half.

My Bets – lost $45 (-3% POT) as I chased bonuses from the corporates for running 2nd or 3rd in selected races. I collected 1 bonus of $50, which will convert to $35 cash, so although I felt that I had failed with my bets, I guess the end result will not be too bad.

Daily Profit – Value Bets made a profit of $540 (+14% POT), mainly through cashing in previous bonuses earned. Plus they also earned another $92 in bonus bets.

All in all, a most curious but profitable day. Hopefully my new betting model, can withstand the ups and downs of gambling, better than my previous models.
